- This WIP (work in progress), once "finished", will be authored and published as an eBook on Amazon Kindle and will give equal credit to all members of this team.
- We will be choosing a "PEN NAME", which will reflect our "team". This will be a group effort; your suggestions will be given to the group via this link, then the final choice will be sent to you through my autoresponder. (You're welcome to suggest more than one pen name!)
- You must be willing to share your real name & email with the other members of the writing team. Your real first name and last initial and an email address you make just for this group effort is totally okay. I've set up many a "dummy" email for a particular reason in the past. GMail is a great one to use for this purpose if you don't want us contacting you with your main email address. The TITLE & GENRE of this piece will be a team decision, too. All ideas are welcome; you don't have to offer just one! This will be our "first order of business" as a new, round-robin writing team :)
- THIS WIP WILL BE NOVEL LENGTH unless it finishes up sooner, LOL.
- All story chapters will be reflected on the LitLift website; you'll be given the login and password for our round robin WIP. This way, the ENTIRE STORY will be available for you to view, not just the previous chapter sent to you in email.
- After the genre, pen name, and title are chosen you will be assigned a "number". For example: You may be #1 in the writing "Q"... you'd write the first chapter / opening / prologue - whatever it would be and have FIVE DAYS before your chapter is due to pass on to writer #2 in the "Q" (you'll get an email from me telling you "who" this is). *** If you finish say in just 1 or 2 days, you'd send it forward to the next Writer in line, & FROM THAT DATE they'd have a total of 5 days to complete the next chapter & submit it to the LitLift website, where all of us can see how the story is progressing. If you're a fast writer, do your thing and pass it forward; if you work a little slower (or have a busy life schedule like me) you may need the full 5 days to complete a chapter. Your writing timeframe will probably be different each time it's your turn ... just be sure that as soon as your chapter is done you send it to the next writer in line.
- Please use a spell-check / grammar check prior to pasting into LitLift. I suggest downloading "Grammarly" or some other freebie to your desktop. Then, whenever you use whatever word processor you have (like Word), you'll be shown, automatically, the corrections you need to make. Just a suggestion. If you don't want to use Grammarly, then use Word's spellcheck features. ALSO INDICATE the word count of your chapter. Since our goal is novel-length, we'll all see where it's at as we go along.
- Each writer will be responsible to submit a complete character summary if they decide to add another character to the story line after we begin. You can find the character summary questions outline you'll need, HERE. Simply copy/paste it into your word processor, fill it out, then (1) email it to me, and (2) post it on our LitLift site under the "more characters" tab. (Your added character/s may be either a protagonist or antagonist)
- I ask that you keep the username and password for LitLift a "secret"; we don't want anyone reading our "stuff" until it's finished and ready for publication. At that time, we'll ALL get to help with the marketing! Go, Team!
- You will be notified of your team "number" (where you'll be in the writing line-up) along with the entire Team's names and email addresses. Please do NOT share these with anyone outside the Team.
- All chapters, when finished, will be SENT BY THE CURRENT WRITER to THREE PLACES (1) me via my email, (2) to whomever is "next" in line to write, and (3) copy/pasted into our LitLift. This way, we all will have control of the process; it won't just fall to one person.
- If you decide you either don't like this or don't have the time for this, please email me asap (or contact me, HERE) so you can be taken "out" of the writing line-up. Know that this email will be sent to the other team members so they'll know what's going on, not just me. TOTAL TRANSPARENCY :)
- Last but not least, (actually, this will be the FIRST THING each of us will do) you will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement which will consist of (1) your promise not to share this work with anyone outside the Team as we're writing, (2) your promise not to take any part of the work and re-cycle it into another story, even if it's a chapter you've written, and (3) a release to publish, if and when the work is finished. When the time comes to e-publish this (probably with Amazon Kindle services), we will then arrange a way to give fair share to all involved (I'm talking when sales begin). We will have a Team Discussion on this when the time comes to get ideas on the best way for this to happen.
